According to official information by 2012 all Nokia N-series devices will on Maemo operating system not Symbian. Up to now only Nokia’s internet tablets run on this Linux based OS. Maemo will insensibly force out S60 which will run only on budget and middle class smartphones. Nokia believes that such measures will help Nokia’s high-end devices to compete with iPhone and Android devices with more success. It is also notable that in spite of all advantages of Maemo Nokia in not going to use it for E-series and X-series devices.
